This model will carry up to 250 ft of 500 pound test
Kevlar line or 125 ft of 1000 pound test Kevlar line.
The 1” tubing mount for AB Biller stainless steel
spearguns is included. This model is made from 6061-T6
aluminum and stainless steel. It is available in
a black or clear finish. All the aluminum parts
are hard anodized for durability. Line is not
included. Reel and mount is 10.5 ounces without
line. Reel is 3.5” OD and 1.5” wide. It has an
adjustable drag and adjustable angle no tangle
line guide.
The large Eagle Z1 aluminum reel is the same
for both the 1" OD metal spearguns and can be
screwed into wood guns. You can just remove the
mount from the reel and screw the reel directly
to the wood speargun. It is not that big a deal
to do if you can drill a couple of holes. If you
look at the mount itself, you will see how it
can be removed from the reel body with the two
bolts. We DO NOT supply the stainless steel wood
screws to attach the reel to the speargun
itself. This is a standard hardware store item.
These speargun reels can handle over 200 ft of
the 500 pound test heavy Kevlar line, and some
have used it with light braided SS cable like
fishing leader. These are also used with the
NOAA research people who just attach it to a
18"L x 1" OD piece of tubing for underwater
projects, alligators, sharks, and buoy devices.
