face masks. These are safer and far more comfortable than
traditional Scuba masks for extended range diving and
hazardous activities. Professional divers also require more
mobility and dexterity than a sport diver due to limited and
low visibility diving. Night diving, and zero visibility
"Mud Diving" also subjects the commercial diver to
unwarranted fear, and dangerous disorientation and vertigo
problems. Unlike sport divers who utilize the buddy system,
professional diving operations are typically done solo. This
makes the diver susceptible to a much higher risk factor
involving equipment failure.

Searching through rubble for a victim or evidence requires
the extensive use of your hands. Using ropes, reels, buoys,
during search grid patterns only adds to the complexity of
the task. Attempting to recover objects with lift bags, or
with crane slings makes holding a dive light near
impossible. The solution is simple, keep your hands free. By
attaching the lighting system directly to the divers mask
everything in your view is properly illuminated. The unique
articulating Twin S-SUN mounting system provides the ability
to adjust the lighting system off center. Reflection
problems are eliminated, and the light and shadow principal
provides more detail and depth of field. Our testing shows a
substantial improvement in diver productivity, safety, and
comfort when 2 or more of the S-SUN systems are utilized.
HOW MUCH
LIGHT IS ENOUGH?
The lighting requirements will vary based upon
your activity and conditions. Each S-SUN provides an amazing 500
candlepower of pure white light with an 18 degree beam spread
and represents the most powerful and practical compact LED hands
free lighting solution. Keep in mind that LED lights will not
reach out through 100 ft of water like some of the expensive
high powered HID cave lights. The S-SUN system is not designed
to replace the sport divers wide angle 7.5 to 15 watt modified
spot primary dive light for night diving, it is designed to
supplement it. It provides perfect colors of the marine life,
and the ability to see into dark places and over hangs that the
unassisted eye cannot see during day time diving, and provides a
practical level of illumination for close up detailed vision
without damaging your night vision ability. While a typical dive
light bulb life span 12-14 hours before they burn out due to
over voltage, heat production, or vibration. The S-SUN lamp
system can run for years and is extremely shock resistant.
Limitations: Dark water
and dirty water diving is very different. Although no underwater
lighting system is effective during "Black Out" conditions, the
S-SUN does create a stable and reassuring brown focusing spot
that provides stable orientation and piece of mind. This benefit
is extremely helpful during lengthy recovery missions, and ship
and barge inspections.
