Camera
Battery: The battery life span between charges
will depend on if the LCD screen is used or the optical viewer,
and if the camera flash is used. Also, how long the camera is
running between pictures. All of these factors must be
considered, and these can change based upon ambient temperature
conditions. Battery power is constantly being consumed when the
camera is turned on, and operational. Most people can obtain
well over 100 OUTDOOR pictures with the high Mpx cameras with a
1 Gig memory card, and about 30% fewer pictures INDOORS because
BOTH the LCD screen and flash are used.
Memory
Cards: The number of pictures that can be stored
is totally dependent on the size of the memory card that is
used, and the camera file size settings selected. The low
capacity memory cards that are typically included with digital
cameras was designed to allow the user to utilize the camera
immediately with low cost. The more Mpx a camera has, the larger
the file size, and the fewer the pictures the memory card will
hold. The larger the memory card, the more pictures it can
store. Unless you will have your PC laptop handy during vacation
to down load your memory card pictures, we suggest the
following: At least a 1 Gig SD card be utilized with all Digital
cameras over 7.0 Mpx for still pictures. If you are going to be
taking movies, you will suggest the 4 Gig SD card. SD memory
cards prices have been greatly reduced, so the larger the card
the better.
