Underwater White
Balance Slate

This is the little digital camera accessory that
everybody who takes pictures under the water must have.
As a diver descends all the natural color starts to fade
away. First the Red, Yellow and Orange, and soon after
reaching 30 feet all the remaining colors start to
disappear. By the time the diver hits 60 ft all of the
digital photographs will have distorted or very poor
color saturation. The typical solution is to spend over
$600.00 for an external underwater flash unit. However,
by simply adjusting the digital camera white balance at
depth, all the warm colors can be preserved! This white
balance adjustment is something you cannot do with a
standard 35 mm film camera.
This special 5” x 7” white balance slate allows the
Scuba diver to quickly re-set the camera white balance
setting at any given depth to restore all the lost
colors. Basically, just point the digital camera at this
special slate and by going through the digital camera
menu you re-set the white balance, it’s that simple.
This will trick the image color processor into thinking
that washed out gray / green colored slate is snow white
and it will automatically adjust for any given divers
depth. The balance slate has a split ring for BCD
attachment and a underwater pencil so you can take notes
as you shoot your pictures. Excellent Yellow rubber over
molding makes it quick to frame underwater and provides
a good grip for proper orientation and framing. |
